Minnesota winters are notorious for below zero temps and piles of snow, and this year is no exception. It's been a rough one, I am so beyond ready for green grass, thunderstorms and sitting in my backyard in the warm sunshine. However, over the past few weeks, the light in the mornings during my commute has been amazing.
I altered these photos with the
Instagram app for the iphone. While some don't think so highly of this app, I love it. As a photographer, I think it is a fun way to experiment and I love having a toy-like camera in my pocket. Sure the quality is not the best, but creating these images has helped me get through some long, dark days.

I love this camera store. The sign, as well as the inside are so old school. The place is stocked floor to ceiling with Leica, Mamiya and Rolleiflex cameras, as well as REAL film and many other goodies. I wish there were more stores around like this, it's a little gem!

The Corn Cob buildings are among my favorite structures in Chicago.
Loved this window display, such crazy detail in the paper cutouts. 
Aren't these old neon signs beautiful? When I first started taking photography classes in high school, I loved seeking them out. I came across this article on the idsgn blog, and apparently there is a neon museum in Vegas that looks AMAZING. It is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the iconic art form. Vegas isn't really my kind of place, but it would be so cool to see all of these old signs!
