We are creeping up on my absolute favorite time of year. The time when we can finally open our windows, it stays light well after I have left work and we wake up to birds chirping in the morning. I can't wait.

A Saturday Doodle: Spring Flowers

I was supposed to be out with a friend this evening, but instead I am home with a head cold. Boo! So my evening has been full of doodling and watching Netflix. Real exciting, let me tell you. This doodle has me longing for spring, despite the crazy mild winter weather. Happy weekend, everyone!

30 Birdies Day #2: Chickadee

My dad made me a birdhouse this spring and it was quickly inhabited by a pair of Chickadees, they are just so cute! I have enjoyed watching them from my kitchen window as they flutter around the yard. I imagine their family to be quite adorable!

A Little Doodle

Here is a little something that I have been working on over the past few days. My heart goes out to those dealing with the aftermath of severe weather both here in MPLS and in Joplin, Missouri. How tragic and devastating, here's hoping you see some sunshine soon.

It has been so lovely to wake up to birds chirping outside our window the past few months. I don't realize how much I have missed them until they return with their frenzied chatter. I found this neat little collection of bird images via Children's Illustration blog.

I Heart Spring!

It's been quiet around here again because I have been busy enjoying the Spring weather. This is by far my most favorite time of year. I love all of the blooming trees and tulips, it's all so lovely and cheerful. This spread is from a favorite book of mine called A Book of Seasons by Alice and Martin Provensen. I hope that the weather is fantastic wherever you are!

Daily Pattern: Spring Blooms

Walking around our neighborhood this weekend, I saw so many beautiful blooming trees and bushes which is what inspired me to create this little pattern. Spring is finally here!

Sweet Tweet

A little doodle I have been working on to celebrate the arrival of Spring, although it's a chilly 45 degrees here today after a beautiful teaser of a weekend. We are bundled up in blankets on the couch watching old episodes of The Gummi Bears and The Smurfs. It's oddly comforting to relive some of the tv shows from childhood. Drinking wine while watching makes it just a bit more grown up.

Hello, Spring!

Just a quick post to say hello, happy weekend and happy wonderful weather! It's been amazing here all week (finally!). Last night was spent on the patio grilling chicken brats followed by vanilla ice cream with strawberries and grilled bananas. Delicious. This morning, a breakfast patio meal of spinach brie frittata and hashbrowns. I LOVE eating outside, it's simply the best.

I have almost made it though the worst of it at work-yay! And I cannot wait to show you some my projects, they are pretty fun.

Now it's back outside for me and I hope to post some new patterns soon, soon, soon!

Wishful Thinking

These photos of the Netherlands in the middle of Tulip season definitely helped brighten up my Monday a bit. Aren't they incredible? The colors are very inspiring! I really want to witness all of this beauty firsthand someday.

With signs of Spring yet to really be seen here in the Midwest, I am more anxious than ever for it's true arrival. I just really want to be able to wear flip flops and open up all of the windows-is that too much to ask?!?

Spring Fever

I want Spring to come so badly and it seems the more I wish it here, the further it runs away! We are supposed to get slammed with more snow and cold and I am so mad! Sometimes it really feels like we live in Narnia! A Hawaiian themed birthday party this past weekend inspired this new pattern.
