I was finally able to make a bit of a dent in my Google Reader this weekend, as it's getting very out of control. While catching up on one of my favorites-
designworklife-I came to learn of this fabulous website that archives the work of
Louis Slobodkin, a beloved author/illustrator. He illustrated one of my most favorite stories from childhood-The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes. I love the light, sketchy quality of his work.
The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes, 1944, Harcourt
Trick or Treat by Louis Slobodkin, 1959, Macmillan
Love and Knishes by Sara Kasdan, 1956, Vanguard
Too Many Mittens by Florence Slobodkin, 1958, Vanguard
